Delivery of the power engineering equipment and generators from Bulgaria to Egypt

Transformers body dimensions: Length – 914, Width – 340, Height – 410, Weight – 130 tons.

Route: Burgas (Bulgaria) to Port of Adabiya (Egypt)

Key points: Equipment was shipped as part cargo and under deck only. Shipper required to minimize transit time, delivery route required pass of Suez Canal.

In 2016 the Glogos Project executed the transportation of energy equipment and 2 generators in the address of EL SEWEDY POWER SYSTEM PROJECTS. In total 34 units/784 tons of equipment have been transported.

Owing to the absence of cranes capable to load the 130-ton transformers in the port of Adabiya the heavylift vessel has been chartered. Transformers needed to be transported in the holds, but as part cargo. Shipper required to suit into squeezed transit time in accordance with l/c terms and conditions. Passing of Suez and chartering of geared vessel basis last in/first out for adequate budget was quite a challenge.

Finally, we met the deadline and after passing the Suez canal, the ship passed the Red sea, where successfully reached the destination – Port of Adabiya.
